Reply: Regarding dis-assembly of your mixer. The shells of the XLR connectors stay on the steel top plate, they do NOT need to be drilled out. You will see there is a small fourth hole above the centre hole which contains a locking cam. With a fine 2mm screwdriver give all the cams a quarter turn anti-clockwise and the central connectors will release. They will probably need to be pushed through the shells but this saves a lot of time and mess de-soldering the XLRs. The jack line and insert connectors are not locked to the top plate. The faders are screwed through the top plate and there are a few other obvious screws through the top plate which need to be removed.

"Hello there, You�re page is very informative on the Seck mixers. I�m running a model 122 with the original PSU and am in the USA. Everything seems to work fine on the mixer, but only the yellow light on the PSU is lit, not the green one. The red phantom power light on that switch works fine as well. Any idea if something is wrong? Or maybe that green light is just burnt out? Thanks for any advice!" Howie (29/03/2020)
Reply: If the PSU is still powering the mixer properly, then the �24v supply rails must be OK. The yellow and green LEDs show the �15v rails which are only required on the 8 bus consoles (12.8.2 or 18.8.2). They are not used, not even connected, in the 12.2 console. The +15v rail of the PSU may be faulty or the LED may possibly be burnt out but the most likely cause is that one of the LED legs has broken off the printed circuit board (PCB) and may just need soldering back on. You can confirm if each of the five rails are OK by probing the 6 pin DC connector plug with a DC voltmeter. "Hi, Recently purchased psu plug and schematic deteials from you. Now have my mixer up and running-thanks. If I apply un-regulated 48 volts to pin3 on seck desk psu plug-will this give me 48v phantom as in the schematic-many thnaks Paul" (05/03/2011)
Reply: Yes, 48V phantom power on pin 3 is correct. The PSUs will need to share the common earth / 0V on pin 6.

History: Seck mixing consoles were manufactured by Bandive Ltd in England during the 1980s. Seck mixing consoles were compact, lightweight, well featured and good value for money and were distributed principally in UK, France and USA. Production began with models 6.2 and 12.2 intended for theatre and small PA use. The range then expanded with a 24 channel version (24.2) and two 8 bus consoles; the 12.8.2 and 18.8.2 which were designed for use with 8 track recorders although could also be used for live performance. In the early 1990s they were taken over by Soundcraft who ceased manufacturing under the Seck trade name, however, much of the design team's Research & Design was condensed into the Spirit series of budget mixers. Unfortunately, Soundcraft don't support legacy Seck products. We have used and repaired several Seck consoles in the past and have some technical information available. top

	Alps mono channel fader at £ 9.95 ~~each (also for 8 bus group masters or master faders on 6.2 and 12.2~~ NOW OBSOLETE. These faders are electrically identical to the originals, but have a flatter profile so require short jumper wires to reach the PCB. These faders have a T type stem. so will require a T fader cap (see above). These faders are 128mm long with screw fixing centres 120mm, slot length 110mm, fader travel 100mm.
