What size do I need?:
DVD / CD / tape / cassette drive: Use a piece of
string or wire to measure the total distance round the band drive path.
Then deduct approximately 10% to allow the correct drive tension.
If
you still have the old belt:
When measuring an old belt, remember it has probably stretched a bit
with age like an old rubber band, so you will need to replace it with a
slightly shorter one. This is not the most accurate way to
size it.

enough to replace the one that snapped on my vintage reel-to-reel
